Measuring Outcomes - Setting Standards of Care

One of the many ways Mercy Heart & Vascular Institute maintains its leadership status is by our continued participation with national data registries to measure our outcomes. These organizations establish national standards for cardiac care that we use as a goal to set our own quality standards, which we then strive to meet or exceed.

Mercy's commitment to quality has earned widespread recognition, topping several national lists. We participate with the following data registries to measure our outcomes:

American College of Cardiology (ACC)/ National Center for Data Registry (NCDR)

National Registry of Myocardial Infarction (NRMI)

Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS)

Mercy Heart & Vascular Institute has a Data Administration Department that supports our participation in these organizations. Within this department, the staff is able to collect and analyze information on the more than 5,000 patients admitted to Mercy for cardiac care on a yearly basis.
