The mission of the Preventive Health Center is to promote general welfare, prevent illness and to provide evaluation, exercise, health education and health promotion services to the greater Sacramento area. Our goal is to assist individuals, groups and companies to reach this end.

The Preventive Health Center is centrally located in East Sacramento on the campus of Mercy General Hospital. Physicians, clinical exercise physiologists and other health promotion professionals focusing on the proven aspects of preventive health provide the center's health promotion, nutrition and exercise and health promotion services.

The facility houses state-of-the-art equipment and technology for assessing and monitoring individual needs. The Center draws upon and makes follow-up referrals to outpatient wellness and education resources such as Smoking Cessation, Cholesterol and Lipid Management, CHAMP®, Diabetes Education and Behavioral Health Services. Referrals are also made to traditional medical therapies and services including orthopedic, occupational, physical, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation.
