For more than 25 years, our highly trained and experienced staff have helped patients develop new skills, relearn lost skills and make the adjustments needed to live and enjoy a life of independence.

OUR PROGRAM
As the first acute rehabilitation program north of San Francisco accredited by the Commission on Accreditation on Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), we have achieved the highest standard and specialize in working with the most complex rehabilitation programs for patients with functional loss due to disabling illness or injury, including, but not limited to the following diagnoses:

  • Traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury
  • Neurological disorders
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Amputation
  • Orthopedic conditions
  • Major multiple trauma

Each patient works toward their personalized, attainable goal with the support and reinforcement of our nursing, therapy and medical staff including:

  • Adapt and compensate for the effects of the injury as they transition back to community living

Albert Hwang, MD
Dr. Albert Hwang, our medical director, is a board-certified physician. He graduated from and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Medical School.   Elisa Yao, MD
Dr. Elisa Yao graduated from and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from the UC Davis School of Medicine. Her special clinical interests include neuro-rehab for stroke, spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury.
