Molecular Epidemiology Case-Series of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in Smoking and Non-Smoking Women and Men

Trial Description:
The purpose of this study is to:

1. Determine why women are more likely to be diagnosed with certain types of lung cancer than men.
2. See if factors other than smoking may put women at higher risk of lung cancer than men.
3. Determine what factors are associated with lung cancer in men and women who do not smoke.

Patients:

  • Newly diagnosed stage I, II, or III non-small cell lung cancer
  • Patients must be willing and able to complete a questionnaire, provide a blood specimen and give consent for a pathology specimen to be sent for analysis
  • Patient must be willing to provide prior smoking history
  • Participation in this study must be within 42 days of diagnosis
