Mission Statement
The Mercy Spine Program is committed to delivering high quality comprehensive services to the local and extended community with excellence, compassion and collaboration. The goal of the Mercy Spine Center is to guide and assist each patient through surgery and their hospital stay and enable them to return to previous activities as quickly, safely and as pain free as possible with a plan tailored to meet their individual needs.
Spine Services
The Neurovascular/Spine Unit at Mercy General Hospital specializes in caring for and treating patients undergoing various neurovascular and spinal surgeries which include, but are not limited to Laminectomy, Spinal Fusion and Discectomy.
Our staff cares for more than 600 patients with complex global spinal surgeries. The Neurovascular/Spine Unit also handles more than 500 neurological, spine and vascular system surgeries annually. Patients are cared for by a highly-skilled, multidisciplinary team, including registered nurses, physical therapists and case managers. Our staff meets weekly with the entire team to address the care needs of each patient. Mercy's multidisciplinary team tailors a plan of care specific for each individual, thereby reducing the length of stay in the hospital and post-operative complications. Our staff is skilled in neurological assessment, pain control and compassionate care.
