What should I do if I must be absent from my volunteer assignment due to illness or other personal needs?

If you are going to miss a volunteer assignment, please contact the department you work in directly as well as the Volunteer Services Department. This is a courtesy to the staff, and we ask that you please be diligent in notifying us of your absence. You may call the hospital's main line at (916) 453-4545 and ask to be transferred to your department.

What should I do if I need to change my schedule or I am interested in working a different area of the hospital?

The Volunteer Services Department will make schedule and assignment changes upon request. We want you to get the most out of your experience here at Mercy, and we understand that schedules change and new interests arise. Call the Volunteer Services Department at (916) 453-4559.

What should I do if I lose my badge?

Contact Human Resources at (916) 453-4915. Explain to them what happened to your badge and the correct steps to take in securing a new one.

What should I do if I want to discontinue my volunteer service?

We are always sorry to see one of our volunteers leave the program. We understand that lifestyle changes and other interests make it impossible for you to stay with us indefinitely. Please contact the Volunteer Services Department at (916) 453-4559 to discuss your departure.

What should I do if I would like to request a copy of my hours or receive a letter of recommendation?

Contact the Volunteer Services Department at (916) 453-4559 to request your hours or a letter of recommendation. Please allow several days to complete your request.
